Johnny called late November to ask if I were to photograph his wedding. At first I was hesitant to accept any more work but his sweet English accent and charm got the better of me. Then later meeting Isabelle sealed the deal for me. Mostly they wanted images of their ceremony and cocktail. They married at the Empress Hotel at 4:30pm. The couple were wonderfully animated as were their guests! I can still here the laughter in the room.

If I had it my way, everyone would wear hats. So wonderfully photogenic! Thuraya and Matthew wedded at Villa Marco Polo which is one of my very favorite locations in Victoria! Liam and Eliza are fabulous hosts whom are so inviting and make their guests feel at home. Thuraya’s BIG red dress was of course a treat! After all these years of photographing guys tie their ties, this one was entertaining when both Matthew and his best man had to read the instructions. You were all wonderful to photograph!

Megan and Jason’s wedding was a spectacular day. Having already photographed Jason’s twin brother’s wedding the year before the family and friends were familiar with me as I with them. What struck me was how the couple greeted their guests before entering the church which made so much sense! It made for a wonderful ambiance. Not to focus on the weather but can’t help it when the late afternoon clouded over where by the time we reached the Ocean the winds were impressive and dynamic… almost winter like. It was a gift after all these bright sunny days!

Both Moira and Sean were ready with fabulous props which made the creative session a treat! Their sense of humor priceless.

There’s something fascinating about Parades. An array of cacophony & visual over load topped with anticipation, nervousness and boredom. These images were taken from Mayfair parking lot where they spend up to two or more getting ready with last minute choreography, last minute tuning of hefty instruments, and a few embraces here and there to keep warm. The parade itself does not interest me, but behind the scenes where emotions are strong.

Year 2008 was a remarkable year for weddings. Each and every couple along with their family and guests were a pleasure to photograph! Below are a summary of all the celebrations from last year. There are one or two images per wedding expressing either a tender moment, humour, grace, friendship, romance and countless other arrays of emotion that wedding celebrations encompass. It is simply a privilege to have met you and share your celebrations. A heartfelt thank you and best wishes!
